At All the Colour Ltd, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to crafting beautiful, lasting jewellery while minimizing our environmental impact and supporting ethical practices throughout our supply chain.
Our Commitments
Locally Sourced Materials
-
We use locally sourced materials wherever possible to reduce our carbon footprint and support local businesses.
-
Our production process is small-batch, handmade and low-waste by design.
Wood Sourcing
-
We currently use solid walnut and specialist laser ply from trusted UK suppliers.
-
We are actively transitioning to Sustainable Scottish Hardwood, supplied and milled for us by Brodies Timber, ensuring our wood is responsibly sourced and traceable.
Responsible Waste Management
-
Offcuts from production are reused creatively (see, for example, our recycled studs), or recycled responsibly.
-
Where we use epoxy resin, we aim to mix no more than we need for a batch. If there is any left over, we use it to make hair clips that we sell at markets we attend.
-
Our production process is small-batch, handmade and low-waste by design.
Transparency
-
We’re open about our supply chain and actively seek UK-based partners who share our environmental values.
-
If a product is in transition (e.g. materials being upgraded to sustainable sources), we will tell you that clearly in the product description.
Community Giving
-
Each year, we donate 10% of our profits, split equally between LGBTQIA+ causes and environmental charities or initiatives.
-
We believe sustainability includes standing up for inclusion, equity, and climate justice.
Ongoing Improvement
-
Sustainability is a process. We're constantly reviewing and improving our materials, energy use, and waste management practices.
-
We welcome feedback from customers and partners who share our values.
We encourage our customers to:
-
Choose well, buy thoughtfully, and care for products to extend their life.
-
Recycle or compost our packaging after use.
-
Contact us about custom or made-to-order products to avoid unnecessary stock.
Sterling Silver
-
Our silversmithing work uses only recycled Sterling Silver, reducing reliance on newly mined metals and supporting a circular materials economy.
Plastic
-
All our packaging is plastic-free, recyclable or compostable.
-
We avoid single-use plastics entirely in our shipping materials.
-
We re-use supplier packaging wherever suitable.
-
Where we use epoxy resin in our jewellery, we do so thoughtfully and with care. We believe this mindful approach gives plastic a meaningful and valued role in our creations, only using it where it enhances durability and design.
Gemstones
-
Any gemstones we use are ethically sourced.
-
Our primary supplier is TwoSkies, a Scottish business that specialises in Scottish-born gemstones (and can also provide ethically sourced stones from across the world)
