Care Tips

Wooden Components

If your jewellery is partly or largely made of wood, then you need to take special care of it, in the same way that you would for anything else made of wood.  Our general advice is that you don't get it too wet.  The wood is protected so don't worry if you get caught in the rain, or occasionally forget to remove your wooden earrings before your shower, but repeated or prolonged soaking is not advised;

Resin Components

Many of our pieces are finished with a wee resin dome.  If yours becomes a little cloudy, then we recommend polishing it with a very fine abrasive cream (we like Flitz!)  - there may be other products (e.g. for your car paintwork) that you could try, but please be careful not to use something too rough.

Wood and Sterling Silver joined together

Since we can't solder sterling silver to wood, we use a chemical bonding approach (i.e. we glue it!) After a LOT of experimentation we have found that the most reliable is a Loctite superglue that has a little flexibility.  If your piece manages to unglue itself, you can either sand both surfaces and rejoin with superglue (make sure both surfaces are clean first) OR feel free to get in touch - we can fix it for you :-)

Sterling Silver

Many of our pieces are made solely from Sterling Silver - these can be cleaned as you would any other Sterling silver piece.  If your pieces also has wooden or gem components, we recommend you use a silver cleaning cloth, and just use it on the silver parts.
